Learning Across Oceans
Providing educational exchange opportunities to youth and young adults is a critical part of any sister city program. Anuja SA develops collaborative programs between San Antonio and Chennai from the K-12 level through college.
These exchanges take the form of memoranda of understanding between colleges and universities, hosting student exchange groups from India, and case-by-case assistance for students and educators building their own bridges.
A School Born of Kindness
When floods displaced families in Chennai in 2015, Anuja SA raised a significant portion of the funds to build a school for the children who lost theirs: proof that a sister city relationship is family, not formality.
